Mike Buono

Mike's love of food is rooted in cultural tradition. Growing up in an Italian family, his love for food was cultivated at a young age. 


Mike attended Culinary School at S.A.I.T., a premier Culinary Arts program. He graduated Valedictorian, and won the Benjamin Towers Memorial Award. 


From there he began to sharpen his skills while studying under top level masters, including CCC Chef Matt Batey and Master Chef Michael Allemeier, and Chef Alana Peckham.

​In 2014 Mike would take his first Head Chef position at a trendy Main Street cocktail bar in Vancouver BC - the Cascade Room - after which he embarked on a new endeavor as Executive Chef at the prestigious Rockwater Secret Cove Resort. Here, he fell in love with all the Sunshine Coast had to offer.

Ryan Kingsberry
Hospitality Director

Whatever the capacity of interaction you have with Ryan, you feel in the company of an old friend. 

Ryan was born into the service industry. He has over decade of business management experience, and a lifetime of hospitality tutelage. 


Three years ago, Ryan traded in a suit and tie for an apron. He graduated from professional Culinary and Pastry school whilst apprenticing under Chef Mike Buono. 


Ryan plans to take all the lessons he has learned in the kitchen, and apply them to his established body of knowledge as he returns to the Front of House and heads up restaurant operations as Hospitality Director at Buono Osteria.
